Monday, April 10th, 2006

Wednesday, 19 April – Premiere Showing of the award-winning documentary – THE REAL DIRT ON FARMER JOHN by Taggart Siegel – 7:00-9:00 PM, Room 109, Morgan Hall, at WIU.
According to the film’s website (www.therealdirt.net), THE REAL DIRT ON FARMER JOHN is the award-winning true story of third-generation American farmer John Peterson’s hero’s journey of success, tribulation, failure and rebirth, through his childhood in the ‘50s, the tumultuous ‘60s, the hippie-influenced ‘70s, and the farm-crisis ‘80s, culminating in his transformation-based creation of a biodynamic, organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm serving 1500 families in the Chicago area with weekly fresh produce.

All 2006 shares are filled

Monday, April 10th, 2006

All forty shares for our 2006 season are now spoken for. A special thank you to all of you who referred people to us. If you run into someone who would be interested in joining in the future, please do still have them contact us. We would like their information for next year and, occasionally, someone does drop out during the season.

Members will be getting a reminder postcard from us some time in May, which will remind you of the first pickup/delivery night and update you on your payment status and when we have you down for harvest help (if that applies to you).

Planting is now well under way and several crops are up and growing well. Nearly everything is on schedule at this point. Fortunately, we have been spared the worst weather so far.

Hope you are well and able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather!
