We are accepting sign up for our 2016 Garden Workshop!

Our Garden Workshops:  We feel that the Barefoot Gardens Organic Gardening Workshops are the best in our region.  We give you hands-on experience on a working CSA farm.  Students are trained using the best techniques and tools available for human powered agriculture on every scale. Having gardened professionally for over 15 years and having trained many students and interns, we have worked our way through the written material and have a thorough understanding of the tools that make gardening a pleasure rather than a chore.  At the end of the "Greenhorn" workshops, students leave with excellent and original booklets outlining the steps and materials needed to improve and increase the productivity of their gardening as well as their own seed trays loaded with seedlings of their favorite garden varieties.

The 2016 Garden Workshop (two days) - Saturday, April 9th and Saturday, April 16th.  The workshops run from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. both days.   Cost:  $100 (discounts available)

Our two part garden workshop is designed to help people with some gardening experience take their gardening to the next level.  These workshops are a distillation of the knowledge we've learned over 15 years of gardening professionally.  In the workshops, we will be paying special attention to the most difficult gardening questions: We will teach you how to deal with damaging insects, how to maintain a weed free garden, how to maximize fertility on the same piece of ground for many years, how best to grow the most and least common vegetables and how to keep your garden green and productive through the brutal heat and droughts of a Midwest summer.

Workshop students will go home with seeds and seedlings of some of our top varieties as well as our Garden Steps booklet.  We also offer continuing support by offering advice throughout the season.
